To make this a more interesting journey rather than just a showcase, I'll show you my early stages, development and outcomes for my brand.
I hope to be able to show some of my personality through this journey.
To start things off, we'll begin where all my designs start, my trusty sketchbook. At this stage, it's all about putting down as many ideas as humanly possible. Nothing is a bad idea and everything goes, like a personal brainstorm session.
After sketching for some time and looking up visual inspiration online it's time to photograph our favourites and trace.
This is still early stages so nothing polished yet. It's all about the concepts, ideas and what to carry forward in the project.
At this stage, I have what I need to start thinking about the finale outcome. From our earlier testing, I have concluded that the best representation of me will be with a hexagon (my favourite shape) and loud flashy colours.
My use of colours is also something I carry over to my other projects as I think it brings a unique flavour to minimalistic design.
Once I have decided on the symbol for the brand, it's time to explore colours. Depending on the clients budget and deadline I'll be spending a lot of time here.
Testing process
The finale step for this project was to find a logotype. Whilst for most it will be enough to find a fitting typeface, with recommendations from my tutor, I wanted to customise my type so it would be unique to my brand and suite it even better.
Now we just need to apply all of our previous work on assets for the brand.
...design comes from chaos.
